Despite what the title of this post would have you believe, February has been an amazing month so far (and we’ve not even reached V day or pancake eating contests yet). Whilst January was as grey and grim as expected, I’ve started off this month with some great news and have cemented some exciting plans for the year ahead. I also finally have some time to blog again – hurrah!
So here’s some pictures of me. In a denim jacket. A denim jacket that I picked up for five English pounds in a seaside charity shop (vintage fans – get to Frinton) and is possibly one of my most favourite items of clothing ever purchased. Happiness all round.
It’s good to be back. I promise not to leave it so long next time.

I think I have a thing for the metallic trend. It started off as a wary foray into the world of metallic pleats and has grown into a full blown search for shiny items. This particular outfit is a favourite – I wore it last month back when it was still okay to venture out with bare legs (I say ‘back when’ – we’re currently hitting highs of 20 degrees in London).
There’s something about the opulence of a shimmering gold skirt paired with a simple grey tshirt – it just kind of works. The jacket was a bit of an oh-so-wrong-it’s right addition to the look.
This week I stumbled across a worthy addition to my collection – this super shiny silver mini from H&M. I can’t wait to pair it with a grey sweater and chunky boots.

The wait is almost over. Tomorrow morning, the most committed of Wang fans (and those who do not have a manager to report to at 9am) will queue around the block to get their hands on the most hotly anticipated high street collaboration of the year: Alexander Wang x H&M. The rest of us will try our luck on the website, battling against the inevitable crashes and trying not to scream when the cropped grey scuba sweater sells out at 9:02am. Can you tell which piece I’m after?
To save your sanity (and that of your surrounding colleagues/class mates) I’d suggest:
– warning those around you that swearing is likely
– opening a browser on anything you can get your hands on to multiply your chances of success. I have two screens at my desk, a laptop and a mobile to hand. It could get messy…
– decide what you want to buy this evening – nothing worse than a 9am mind blank when Wang is on offer at £34.99
– check out the menswear collection. The guys’ version of the grey scuba sweater might even make it to the top of my list
If you’re heading down to a store at an ungodly hour tomorrow morning, I salute you. Good luck.
This beautiful illustration of the Wang x H&M collection was drawn by Brooke Costello. You can see more of her work here.
Remember, remember the fifth of November. Gunpowder, treason and plot…
I couldn’t resist. Bonfire night is officially one of my favourite nights of the year, and for too long whilst living in London I haven’t managed to make it to an event. This year, however, I’ll be heading to Southwark Park for the annual fireworks display. Entrance is free and the show starts at 7pm (perfect timing for heading down after work), and there’ll be hot food and mulled wine on offer. Doesn’t get much better than that.
In the meantime, I’ve put together some of the cosiest offerings out there to get you through the night. I’ve even included a suitably festive smelling candle to light at home whilst you open another bottle of mulled wine…

Last month I took Amz along to a bloggers’ event in Covent Garden. Typically for us, what was supposed to be a free evening out descended into a trip to Zara, and a few purchases later we ended up in Starbucks drinking chai latte. What can I say, we’re predictable.
I loved my sister’s outfit so much that night that I managed to coerce her into letting me photograph her for the site. No mean feat.
The feather fedora paired with the structured skirt tied everything together in a way that induced a tinge of annoyance that I hadn’t picked it out myself, and the black tshirt kept the outfit casual and wearable as a daytime look. Add a chunky black necklace and some Vagabond boots and you have one jealous older sister on your hands.
