The best thing about snow? People panic and you get sent home early from work. This unexpected afternoon at home gave me a rare opportunity to get out and take a few outfit photos whilst there was still a hint of natural light (emphasis on ‘hint’).
Naturally having this opportunity, I dragged Jack out onto our roof terrace to take a few pictures in the snow – this was his first attempt at outfit photography so I have high hopes for many posts to come!
This faux fur gilet was my bargain of the season, down from £99 to £29 in the Phase Eight January sale. Not only is it incredibly cosy, but it’s also quite an unusual colour and stands out from the sea of black and brown fur gilets you see on the high street.
I paired it with my usual uniform of standard Topshop skinnies and black buttoned-up shirt, and added an old khaki military jacket and chunky heels (potentially unsuitable footwear, however keeps your feet out of the snow).
The blue varnish was mainly because I was feeling a little bit ‘snow queen’, but also brings out the blue in the gilet quite nicely and pulls the look together.
Ten minutes of posing in this weather and I was ready for the pub. How did you spend your snow day?
